Barangay Cogon Urges Vigilance Amid Recent Robberies in Bogo City

Barangay Cogon Punong Barangay Allain Ree F. Torion has issued a public statement calling on residents to stay alert following a series of robberies by unidentified persons within Bogo City. Addressing his constituents as "mga tinahud kong Cogonanons," Kap Torion acknowledged the fear and worry the incidents have stirred across the city and asked everyone to keep watch over one another.


In his message, he reminded residents that safety starts at home and in the neighborhood. He laid out five practical steps for households to follow.

  1. Make sure all windows and doors are locked before going to sleep or leaving the house. 
  2. Keep cash and other valuables in a secure place.
  3. Install lights around the property or just outside the home.
  4. Stay alert to any suspicious behavior. 
  5. Report anything unusual to authorities right away so action can be taken quickly.

Kap Torion stressed that fast reporting is key. Residents who notice anything suspicious are urged to contact the Bogo City Police Station at (0905) 600 2028.

The advisory closes with the call that has become the barangay's rallying line: "Mag-amping. Mag-matngon. Maghiusa. Para sa atong kaluwasan." Be careful, be watchful, and stay united, for the safety of all.

For Barangay Cogon, the message is simple. Vigilance and cooperation among neighbors remain the community's best protection while authorities work to keep the city safe.

The Barangay Argawanon fiesta in honor of El Señor dela Sta. Cruz featured one of its most anticipated highlights on May 2, 2026 with the staging of Miss Argawanon 2026. Application for PSHS National Competitive Examination (NCE) Extended

The Philippine Science High School System (PSHSS) is now accepting applicants for the National Competitive Examination (NCE) for S.Y. 2014 - 2015. Deadline for the filing of application has been extended to August 12, 2013 . The Philippine Science High School System is a Service Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) whose mandate is to offer on a free scholarship basis for secondary course with special emphasis on subjects pertaining to the Sciences with the end view of preparing its students for a Science career.  This is according to Section 2 of Republic Act 3661 that established the first Philippine Science High School campus in 1964.
