Half Day Work Suspension in Government Offices

Memorandum Circular No. 73, s. 2014 Office of the President of the Philippines Malacañang To provide government employees full opportunity to properly observe  01 November 2014, a declared Special Non-Working Day, and to allow employees to travel to their respective provinces, work in government offices on 31 October 2014 is hereby suspended from 12:00 p.m. onwards. However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital public services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services. Yolanda Village

A groundbreaking ceremony was held last January 30, 2013, headed by Gov. Hilario Davide III and Bogo Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr., for additional houses that will be constructed in the Yolanda Village,  a 1.1-hectare property in Barangay LaPaz, Bogo City, Cebu . Forty-five houses have already been built in the said village. The program was initiated by the City Government of Bogo to help families whose houses were destroyed by the super typhoon. 29 donors composed of foreign and local non-government organizations turned over the houses to the beneficiaries. The donors were also given a certificate of appreciation by the City. SunStar reported that the City Mayor said they are prioritizing the 1,350 families who live in the danger zone, or those who reside in the 40-meter no-build zone. Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan for Earthquake Victims

Victims of the earthquake may receive assistance from Pag-IBIG Fund which set aside P4.5 billion for calamity loans where members can avail of 80 percent of their total savings with only 5.95 percent interest.  Pag-Ibig has installed mobile service desks located in front of the Mandaue City Hall, in Gaisano Capital Danao, at the Bogo Service Office on the second floor of J & N building in Bogo City , at the Gaisano Island Mall in Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City and at the Tagbilaran City Hall and at the Governor’s Mansion in Bohol. Who are eligible? A member who has made at least 24 monthly contributions (whether continuous or broken); An active member [i.e., has made at least 5 contributions in the last 6 months as of month prior to the date of loan application]; and Resides in an area which is declared by the Office of the President or the Sanggunian concerned as under a state of calamity.
