Run for Faith 2026: A Fun Run to Rebuild the San Vicente Ferrer Shrine

Lace up your running shoes, Bogohanons . On August 29, 2026, the community comes together for " Run for Faith: Rebuild for Tomorrow ," a fun run for a cause at the Bogo City Amphitheater . The event marks the launching of the Archdiocesan Shrine of San Vicente Ferrer (ASSVF) church reconstruction, and it also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the shrine's elevation as an Archdiocesan Shrine. Every step taken that morning goes toward rebuilding a place of worship that means a great deal to Northern Cebu . The run starts early. Assembly is at 4:00 AM, followed by a Zumba warm-up at 4:30 AM, and the gun start at 5:00 AM. Runners can choose from three categories: 3K, 5K, and 10K. Registration fees are ₱800 for the 3K, ₱900 for the 5K, and ₱1,000 for the 10K. The deadline for registration is August 22, 2026, so sign up early. Barangay Cogon Urges Vigilance Amid Recent Robberies in Bogo City

Barangay Cogon Punong Barangay Allain Ree F. Torion has issued a public statement calling on residents to stay alert following a series of robberies by unidentified persons within Bogo City . Addressing his constituents as "mga tinahud kong Cogonanons," Kap Torion acknowledged the fear and worry the incidents have stirred across the city and asked everyone to keep watch over one another. In his message, he reminded residents that safety starts at home and in the neighborhood. He laid out five practical steps for households to follow. Barangay Punta Fiesta 2026: Four Nights of Color, Music, and Faith for San Roque

Barangay Punta in San Remigio, Cebu is getting ready for its biggest week of the year. From August 13 to 16, 2026, the barangay celebrates its annual fiesta in honor of its patron saint, Señor San Roque , with four straight days of dancing, running, music, and prayer. The theme this year says it plainly: One Faith. One Community. One Punta. The celebration opens on August 13 with SK Night 2026 , a hip-hop dance contest at the Punta Covered Court. It's an open category, so crews from Punta and from other places are all welcome to join. Bring your best layshow and set the stage on fire. The champion takes home ₱7,000 plus a certificate and plaque, second place gets ₱5,000, and third gets ₱3,000, each with their own certificate and plaque. San Remigio Council Authorizes Mayor to Issue Cockfighting Permits During Barangay Fiestas

The Sangguniang Bayan of San Remigio, Cebu has authorized Municipal Mayor Hon. Mariano Martinez to issue special permits for cockfighting activities during barangay fiesta celebrations across the town. The council passed Resolution No. 269-2026 during its 40th Regular Session on July 14, 2026, held at the temporary session hall of the Municipal Hall Building in Poblacion, with Vice Mayor Hon. Alphonsine Corominas-Gonzales presiding. The measure concurs with a request from the Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB), embodied in LnB Resolution No. 1-2026 , which was brought before the council by LnB President Hon. Crinita Ornopia .
