Barangay Cogon in Bogo City is gearing up for one of its biggest weeks of the year. In honor of its patron, Señor San Roque, the barangay celebrates its fiesta from August 7 to 16, 2026, with a full run of nights that has something for just about everyone, whether you are there for the food, the dancing, or the show.
Things kick off on August 7 with the Opening Salvo and Mayor's Nite at the Barangay Cogon Covered Court, starting at 8PM. Bogo City Mayor Mayel Martinez headlines the night, and the crowd can look forward to a Zumba Competition to get the fiesta moving right from the start.
That same night, the 2nd Food Market Festival opens along Corner Banakod near the NFA, and it runs every night from August 7 to 16, 6PM until midnight. This is the part a lot of people will be waiting for. Fifteen establishments are joining in, so there is plenty to go around: SUSHInimo, 22 Chomp Street, 2SR Peanuts, Boba Bee, Gelig's Adobong Puwa, D'FROST Milktea Station, Joy's Place, Kitchenmaid Cakes and Pastries, Makoy's Belly-chon, Cafe Amari, Burger Jay, Del's Delight, Scoop It!, O'teapid Snack House, Mr. Chip's Feast, and probably even more will participate. From lechon belly and burgers to milk tea, frappes, cakes, and sushi, it is a market of food, fun, and a good excuse to stay out late.
On August 11, the covered court hosts the Hon. Erwin Rosal Nite at 8PM. The evening features the famous magician Magicai Palwa, along with the Cebu Closet Drag Queens, for a night of tricks and performance.
Two nights later, on August 13, the fun continues with Kap Allain's Nite at the Barangay Cogon Covered Court, starting at 8PM. Billed as a night of "Lingaw, Sadya, Katawa," it brings comedy and entertainment with Mommy Jupeta, featuring Inday Batbatera and Kween B. Era.The heart of the celebration comes on August 15 with the Kakugi Festival, Barangay Cogon's very own festival. The street dancing begins at 3PM, and the grand showdown takes over in the evening. Five contingents will go all out for the crowd, each led by one of five Festival Kings, in what should be the loudest and proudest moment of the whole week.
It is shaping up to be a fiesta worth clearing your calendar for. If you are anywhere near Bogo City this August, Barangay Cogon is the place to be. Stay tuned to Barangay Cogon's official Facebook page for the latest updates and upcoming announcements.
