On September 30, at almost 10 p.m., a powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake rocked Northern Cebu, shaking homes and causing people to panic. Houses, buildings, roads, bridges, and other infrastrucures were damaged across Bogo City, San Remigio, Medellin, Daanbantayan, Tabogon, and other towns in Northern Cebu. Authorities later confirmed several deaths and dozens of injuries. Hundreds of homes, schools, and public buildings were left cracked or partially collapsed, while key roads were torn apart, slowing down rescue and relief operations. It also opened up many sinkholes (around 70 as of writing).
