Cebu's Entire Fourth District Tagged an Election Hot Spot in Revised Police Watchlist

All of Cebu's fourth legislative district has been flagged as an election "hot spot" after the regional police updated its list of areas where violence could break out during this year's election period.

The fourth district takes in the city of Bogo along with the towns of Bantayan, Daanbantayan, Madridejos, Medellin, San Remigio, Sta. Fe, Tabogon, and Tabuelan.

Superintendent Paul Labra II, the regional police intelligence chief, said the revised Election Watchlist Areas, or EWAS, came out of the force's ongoing assessment of localities across Central Visayas.

Region-wide, the watchlist grew sharply, climbing from 34 to 81 towns and cities. Much of that jump came from folding in every town in Bohol and Siquijor.

Labra said the classification would guide how the police distribute their personnel, explaining that the areas identified through their assessment would serve as the basis for deployment.

The Barangay Argawanon fiesta in honor of El Señor dela Sta. Cruz featured one of its most anticipated highlights on May 2, 2026 with the staging of Miss Argawanon 2026. Application for PSHS National Competitive Examination (NCE) Extended

The Philippine Science High School System (PSHSS) is now accepting applicants for the National Competitive Examination (NCE) for S.Y. 2014 - 2015. Deadline for the filing of application has been extended to August 12, 2013 . The Philippine Science High School System is a Service Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) whose mandate is to offer on a free scholarship basis for secondary course with special emphasis on subjects pertaining to the Sciences with the end view of preparing its students for a Science career.  This is according to Section 2 of Republic Act 3661 that established the first Philippine Science High School campus in 1964. The program is open to all grade 6 pupils who belong to the top 10% of the graduating class or those who have special aptitudes in science and math.
