The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE ) Labor Tripartite Council in Education (LTCE) in coordination with the Industry Tripartite Council-Business Process Management / Information and Communication Technology (ITC-BPM-ICT) will implement a computer literacy program to benefit Barangay Cayang's out-of-school youth (OSY) for this second semester of 2013. Cayang is one of the target Child Labor-Free barangays in Cebu Province . Thirty (30) computer units will be donated to the pilot institution -  Northern Cebu Colleges Bogo City   "To ensure the success of the planned computer literacy program for OSYs, the LTCE-BOT created a committee which was tasked to discuss with TESDA  the details on how this can be accredited, considering the program involves technical skills training requiring the issuance of National Certificate for levels I and II."  - Philippine Information Agency

Super Metro, a retail chain owned by Vicsal Development Corp., opened its latest branch last Tuesday (July 23, 2013) in Gairan, Bogo City . The country’s longest ultra-marathon race, SN250, started yesterday (June 14, 2013) in the Municipality of Santander and will end in the City of Bogo . This is the country's first 250-km race and is considered as a race of the toughest ultra-marathoners in the country. It's not an easy way in for the participants because of the strict screening process. One of the main qualifications of the participants is that they should have joined at least two 100-km ultra-marathon races. City of Bogo's Jan Godfrey Seno defeated Japan's Koki Matsuda, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1,  to capture the 3rd Malacca ATF Asian 14-Under Series Tennis Championship boys singles title. He survived a 3-hour battle against the Japanese. Seno is the first Filipino to win the title.
