Bogo City NBI Clearance Center Opens Today

NBI Clearance Center in Bogo City Photo Source: Rodge Tonacao Bogo City's National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance Center is set to open today.  The clearance center is located on the second floor of the old municipal hall,  just above the Bogo Water District office.  People from neighboring towns no longer have to travel to Cebu City to secure their NBI Clearance. The center is even accessible to clients coming from Leyte and Masbate.  National Bureau of Investigation Manila ICT head Mr. Willy Abuan personally came to Bogo to install the NBI Information System Software at Bogo Clearance Center. A test run was performed last Friday with City Administrator Max Suico, City Councilor Jose Brainard Mayol (proponent of the project), City Human Resource Management Officer Slavsky Ybañez , and City IT Officer Roger Tonacao . Central 1 School Building Destroyed in Bogo City Fire

Nine classrooms were destroyed in Bogo City Central School 1 (known locally as Central 1) after being engulfed in flames last Sunday afternoon.  The Freeman reported that the city fire department received the fire alarm at 5:06 P.M. The fire was declared under control at 5:45 P.M. and was declared completely out at 9:06 P.M.  The building that caught fire was a Gabaldon school building. Gabaldon school buildings are heritage schoolhouses built in the Philippines between 1907 and 1946. They are mostly made of wood and light materials which explains the fast spread of fire. It was also the same building that was rehabilitated by the Israel Defence Force after it was severely damaged by super typhoon Yolanda in November last year.  The fire department has estimated the damage at Php 2.5 Million. Marian Rivera's Charity Auction for Yolanda Survivors in Bantayan

GMA star Marian Rivera has raised more than a hundred thousand pesos (100,000) to help the survivors of super typhoon Yoalanda  in Bantayan Island, Cebu . She auctioned off some of her clothes where the proceeds will benefit around 300 fishermen which are beneficiaries of the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc.   The charity auction was the culmating activity for the Kapuso Adopt-a-Bangka Project which aims to  extends help to affected communities in Northern Cebu. It was held in Lewis Grand Hotel in Clark, Pampanga. In her instagram account , Marian posted: "Masaya ako't nakapagbigay tulong na naman tayo sa pamamagitan ng Kapuso Adopt-A-Bangka Project. Negros Trade Fair to Showcase Woven Baskets of San Remigio

The creativity and resilience of the Visayan people in face of calamity will be highlighted in the 29th Negros Trade Fair which starts today, 24th of September, and will end on the 28th of September. It is held at the Glorietta Activity Center in Ayala, Makati City. Its theme for this year is "Smiles Beyond Borders" which promises to bring the finest food, fashion, furniture arts and crafts not only from Negros, but also from Cebu, Masbate, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Antique. The organizers hoped that the fair would boost livelihood in the areas ravaged first by the killer quake and Super Typhoon “Yolanda” last year.
