The Bogo Tree

City of Bogo 's name origin has always been embedded in the heart and soul of every Bogohanon.  It is no mystery that the name points to the Bogo trees that thrived in the place where early people came to trade. The tree is called by other names in different provinces and countries.  English Garuga Indonesia Kayu kambing (Sulawesi, Moluccas), ki langit (Sundanese), wiyu (Javanese). Papua New Guinea Garuga Philippines Bogo (Cebuano), Burus (Iloko), Abilo (Tagalog). Trade Name Kedondong The scientific name of this tree is Garuga floribunda Decne, which early botanists found abundant in Iloilo, northern Mindanao and the Central Visayas. 7-Eleven Bogo City Branch Opening Soon

A 7-Eleven store is set to open soon at P. Rodriguez St., Bogo City . The store is located just across Gaisano Bogo. From its grand launch at Escario Central last year, 7-Eleven has now more than 10 branches in Cebu.  7-Eleven Bogo City, Cebu 7 - Eleven is the world's largest operator, franchisor, and licensor of convenience stores with more than 50,000 outlets worldwide. The store started in 1927 and got its name because it opened from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m., which was considered to be "extended hours" back in the mid-1900s. 7-Eleven started to stay open for 24 hours on 1963 at a store in Austin, Texas. Ferry Runs Aground in Bogo City

Sixty-three (63) passengers and eighteen(18) crew members were safely brought back to Polambato port after MV Super Shuttle Ferry 10, a vessel of Asian Marine Transport Corporation, ran aground while leaving the wharf in Bogo City . MV Super Shuttle Ferry 10 All passengers and crew members  survived unscathed. The vessel was maneuvering away from Polambato wharf at 3:30 p.m. yesterday on its way to Palompon, Leyte when it drifted and touched bottom.   Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Regional Director Nannette Villamor Diopol sent maritime safety specialists to investigate if the vessel is still seaworthy after the incident.  Sun Star reported that  Asian Marine Transport Corporation  vessels will be held in port until they pass the re-inspection and additional audit.
