Bogo City Charter Day : June 16

Mark your calendars! June 16 has been declared by President Benigno Aquino III as a non-working holiday in the City of Bogo in celebration of its Charter Day.

The President signed Proclamation 378 last May 10 which gives the Bogohanons the full opportunity to celebrate the said occasion.

The plebiscite for the cityhood of Bogo was held on June 16, 2007. It became a component city of Cebu Province by virtue of R.A. 9390.

Sunday, March 25 marks what would have been the 77th birthday of the late great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde one of only two Filipino fighters – the other being Pancho Villa – enshrined in the Boxing Hall of Fame.
